Every Day Counts — Elliptical Cycles

Zero-impact interval day biased to the elliptical, so the arms share the work. Three minutes brisk, ninety seconds easy, four to six cycles as named for the week — twenty minutes early, about thirty at the peak.

When to reach for this template

Drive the handles, do not hang on them — passive arms make this a leg day with extra steps. Effort governs: brisk is short sentences only (RPE 6-7), easy is full conversation (RPE 3-4), and the last brisk block matches the first. If legs are heavy, shorten the stride rather than cutting a cycle. Equipment swaps. No elliptical: the same ladder on a bike, a rower, or as brisk outdoor walking with a free arm swing — match the effort, not the readout. Keep any substitute zero-impact.
